Keep Background Vocals
Preserve background vocals in your karaoke tracks
Youka uses advanced AI models to separate vocals and instrumentals from songs. Some models can preserve background vocals (choirs) separately from lead vocals.
Creating Karaoke with Background Vocals
When creating a new karaoke:
- Click Create Karaoke
- In the advanced options, select a split model that supports backing vocals:
- MusicAI (With Backing Vocals)
- MDX-Net (With Backing Vocals)
- Complete the creation process
Adding Background Vocals to Existing Projects
If you've already created a karaoke and want to add background vocals:
- Open your karaoke project
- Go to the Audio menu
- Under Create, select a model that supports backing vocals
- Wait for processing to complete
- The new audio stems will appear in the Audio menu
Playing with Background Vocals
Once you have backing vocals separated:
- Use the volume controls in the player
- Adjust the balance between:
- Lead vocals
- Backing vocals
- Instrumental
Tips
- Backing vocals add richness to the karaoke experience
- Lower the backing vocal volume slightly for practice sessions
- Use full backing vocals for performances
- Not all songs have distinguishable backing vocals
