Trim Your Song

Cut the beginning or end of your karaoke

Trim your karaoke to remove unwanted intros, outros, or create a shorter version.

Opening Trim Settings

  1. Open your project in the Studio
  2. Click the Trim panel (or find it in Settings)

Setting Start and End Points

Start Time

Where your karaoke begins:

  1. Enter a start time in seconds, or
  2. Drag the start marker on the timeline
  3. Everything before this point is cut

End Time

Where your karaoke ends:

  1. Enter an end time in seconds, or
  2. Drag the end marker on the timeline
  3. Everything after this point is cut

Using the Preview

The preview shows your trimmed version:

  • The timeline highlights the active portion
  • Playback respects trim points
  • Jump to start/end to verify cuts

Trim Display

The panel shows:

  • Start — Current start time
  • End — Current end time
  • Duration — Length of trimmed karaoke

Common Use Cases

Remove Long Intro

If the song has a long instrumental intro:

  1. Find where vocals/lyrics start
  2. Set start time to that point
  3. Optionally keep a few seconds of intro

Remove Outro

If the song has a lengthy fade-out:

  1. Find where meaningful lyrics end
  2. Set end time shortly after
  3. Your export ends at that point

Create Radio Edit

For a shorter version:

  1. Set start to skip intro
  2. Set end to cut before final chorus repeat
  3. Name this version "Radio Edit"

Trim with Versions

Combine trim with versions for multiple cuts:

  1. Create a version called "Full"
  2. No trim applied
  3. Create a version called "Short"
  4. Apply trim to the short version
  5. Export each separately

Resetting Trim

To restore the full song:

  1. Clear the start time (set to 0)
  2. Clear the end time (set to song duration)
  3. Or click the reset button

Tips

  • Preview your trim before exporting
  • Keep lyrics sync in mind — don't cut mid-word
  • Use the waveform to find natural break points
  • Consider how the title card timing works with your trim
