Change Background

Set a color, gradient, image, or video as your karaoke background

Customize what appears behind your lyrics with colors, images, or videos.

Background Options

Open the Background panel in the Studio to choose from:

  • Color — A solid background color
  • Gradient — Blend between multiple colors
  • Image — Upload a custom image
  • Video — Use the original video or upload your own

Setting a Solid Color

  1. In the Background panel, select Color
  2. Click the color picker to choose your color
  3. The preview updates immediately

Creating a Gradient

  1. Select Gradient in the Background panel
  2. Click each color stop to change its color
  3. Click Add color to add more colors
  4. Adjust the angle to change gradient direction

Tips for gradients:

  • Two colors work best for readability
  • Darker backgrounds make white text easier to read
  • Use colors that contrast with your lyrics

Using an Image

  1. Select Image in the Background panel
  2. Click Upload or choose from your gallery
  3. Adjust the blur and dim settings

Image settings:

  • Blur — Soften the image so lyrics are easier to read
  • Dim — Darken the image for better contrast

Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP

Using a Video Background

  1. Select Video in the Background panel
  2. Choose Original to use your uploaded video, or
  3. Click Upload to add a custom background video

Video settings:

  • Blur — Apply blur to the video
  • Dim — Reduce brightness

Tips for video backgrounds:

  • Use videos with minimal motion for better readability
  • Abstract or out-of-focus videos work well
  • Nature scenes and ambient footage are popular choices

You can save and reuse your uploaded images and videos:

  1. Click Gallery in the image or video section
  2. Select from previously uploaded media
  3. The media is applied immediately

Best Practices

For the best viewing experience:

  • Ensure sufficient contrast between background and text
  • Use blur and dim on busy backgrounds
  • Test with different sections of your song
  • Consider your audience's viewing environment (TV, phone, etc.)
