Add Lead-In Beats

Show a visual countdown before each line starts

Lead-in beats help singers know when lyrics are about to start with a visual countdown.

What Are Lead-In Beats?

Lead-in beats are small dots or circles that appear before each line of lyrics. They count down the beats, helping singers start on time.

Example: ● ● ● (disappearing one by one) then lyrics appear

Enabling Lead-In

  1. Open your project in the Studio
  2. Click the Overlays panel
  3. Find Lead-In
  4. Toggle it on

Lead-In Settings

Number of Beats

How many countdown indicators to show:

  • 3-4 beats is standard
  • Match to your song's tempo feel
  • Fewer beats for faster songs

Min Gap

Only show lead-in when there's enough time between lines:

  • Set a minimum gap in seconds
  • If lines are close together, lead-in is skipped
  • Prevents visual clutter during rapid lyrics

Color

Choose the color of the lead-in dots:

  • Match your text color for consistency
  • Or use a contrasting color to stand out

Size Settings

  • Width — Horizontal size of each dot
  • Height — Vertical size of each dot
  • Horizontal Offset — Position left or right
  • Vertical Offset — Position up or down

Use Next Singer Style

In Duet mode, you can make the lead-in match the upcoming singer's color:

  • Toggle Use Next Singer Style on
  • Lead-in dots will use that singer's theme color

When Lead-In Appears

Lead-in shows:

  • Before the first line of the song
  • Before lines with a gap longer than the Min Gap setting
  • When there's silence in the instrumental

Lead-in does NOT show:

  • Between lines that follow quickly
  • During continuous lyrics sections
